Oak Park is a rapidly gentrifying area. The area is generally quiet, but sometimes (on the weekends/evenings) there are the occasional festivities. The house is about a 7 minute walk from the always fun broadway triangle; an area with great shops, breweries, and a really cool bookstore. I love the Plant Foundry (nursery and garden) and i think you might, too. Also, if you're stopping by in the Summer months (May - September) I highly reccommend a visit to Oak Park Gather- a neighborhood event featuring local food and beverage vendors, cool crafts AND live music!

If you get the chance, try the city's newest form of transit - electric bike and scooter sharing! JUMP and LIME are becoming more and more popular in the area and are a really fun way to get around. Of course Uber and Lyft are everywhere too! Public transportation runs up and down the main cross street (Broadway); although I'm not the best with navigating the routes. Midtown is a 5 minute car ride away. If you have a car, please park right in front of the house on the street. The driveway is very narrow, so if you need to park there be careful.

We have a professional pest control service every month. Our home is rural and surrounded by beautiful natural trees so on occasion, and despite our best efforts, a stray bug, roaches, spider, or other nature-loving creature may wander inside. This also happens during summer due to extremely hot and dry weather. Upon booking, guests accept this possibility and uncontrollable situation.

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $50.00 cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
